A lecture, “Predicting Climate Change on a Green Planet: The Daunting Challenge,” by noted environmental scientist and author John Harte, University of California, Berkeley, professor of energy and resources. The lecture is the first in the Science@Cal series of free monthly public talks by UC Berkeley scientists.

John Harte, author of more than 170 scientific publications, including six books, and holder of a Miller Professorship at UC Berkeley.

DETAILS

Following the success of UC Berkeley’s 2009 celebration of the “Year of Science,” the campus will continue free monthly public talks through 2010.

The Science@Cal series features world-renowned UC Berkeley scientists who present their work in a format accessible to a general audience. Upcoming topics include the influence of drugs on the brain, the way the brain processes our visual environment, the effects of climate change on Earth’s
environment and the search for planets orbiting other stars.

All talks will take place on the UC Berkeley campus on the third Saturday of the month at 11 a.m.
