Forum on Future of Public Universities set for Dec. 6

The second in a series of public forums sponsored by the Council of Deans will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6, in Wheeler Auditorium from noon to 2 p.m. The box office in Wheeler Hall will open at 11 a.m. to distribute tickets, and doors will open at 11:30.

Henry Brady, dean of the Goldman School of Public Policy, Catherine Cole, professor, performance studies, Donald Kennedy, president emeritus, Stanford University, Alfredo Mireles Jr., student regent and Jonathan Stein, student regent designate, will speak on the topics of taxation, citizenship, protest and the current crisis in higher education.

Plans call for brief presentations from the speakers, followed by group discussions and sharing of ideas and concerns from participants.
