Alumni, parents bring a festive air at Homecoming 2016

By Public Affairs

Thousands of UC Berkeley alumni and parents — decked out in blue and gold — descended on Berkeley’s campus over the weekend to celebrate Homecoming and the 75th birthday of the campus’s spirited mascot, Oski.

Visitors had the opportunity to listen to more than 30 lectures by faculty and other campus experts, take an elevator ride in the historic Campanile clock tower and go on dozens of tours and open houses throughout campus. On Friday, parents and their cubs got to know other bears at a family dinner and watch student performances, from dancing to martial arts to drumming. On game day, football fans donned Oski hats and noshed on burgers before heading up the hill to cheer on the Golden Bears in their victory over the Utah Utes.
