University Medal runners-up find turning point at Berkeley

Of the 35 outstanding graduating seniors who applied for University Medal this year, five finalists were selected, and water policy warrior Rebecca Peters won. Regalia to the rescue

The Graduation Gown Lending Project, launched last year by students, is on a mission to acquire enough caps and gowns to outfit all graduating seniors who cant afford to rent regalia. Donations helped triple the program this year.

MasterCard Scholars program graduates first six

The campus held a festive event May 16 to honor six students from Sub-Saharan Africa earning masters degrees this month the first graduating cohort from UC Berkeleys partnership with The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program.
