These emotions are the focus of wide-ranging scholarship at the University of California, Berkeley, where researchers are investigating the science of happiness and compassion. In the video linked here, UC Berkeley psychologists Dacher Keltner, Rodolfo Mendoza-Denton, Robb Willer and sociologist Christine Carter describe the work that supports the hypothesis that “survival of the kindest” is the key to our success as a species.
