By Public Affairs

A memorial service for the late Charles Muscatine, a University of California, Berkeley, emeritus professor of English, is set for 11 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 13, in the Pauley Ballroom of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Student Union.

Muscatine, a scholar of Chaucer and medieval literature, also was well known as an educational reformer and for refusing to sign a state loyalty oath during the McCarthy era. He died last March at the age of 89.

The memorial service is being sponsored by the UC Berkeley Department of English and the Muscatine family. A map showing the location of the student union is available online. The Pauley Ballroom is on the third floor.
