BERKELEY — The world-renowned Vienna Philharmonic spent three days in residency at Cal Performances this weekend, sharing their mastery of European classical music with Bay Area audiences and with UC Berkeley student musicians.

In addition to one public concert on each day of their residency, Philharmonic members conducted a special closed rehearsal for music students, a master class and three coaching sessions for members of the UC Berkeley Symphony Orchestra, and an invitation-only chamber music concert at Hertz Hall for UC Berkeley music students and youth orchestra members from around the Bay Area.

Cal Performances has posted a gallery of photos from this rare visit on the organization’s Facebook site.
