Starting today, Tuesday, Jan. 17, vehicle traffic on the Hearst Mining Circle at the east end of campus will be one-way, counter-clockwise only. The change is being made because of construction of a new Campbell Hall, now underway, according to Facilities Services. Until the construction is complete, these will be the rules of the road:
- All vehicles entering campus at East Gate must turn right at the Mining Circle and go around it before heading down the hill on University Drive.
- University Drive from LeConte and Evans halls to Pimentel and Stanley will be one-way only, eastbound (uphill).
- Oppenheimer Way. which runs between Gilman and LeConte, will be one-way only, northbound.
- Much of the parking in the area has been moved to Oppenheimer Way.
Changes also will be made to pedestrian pathways. Signs will provide direction.
