Protest and tents move to Doe library

By Public Affairs

Student protesters moved their tents early today (Tuesday, Feb. 14) from Sproul Plaza to the north entrance of the campus’s main library, administration officials report.

The protest first began Feb. 9 when four tents were set up near the Sproul Hall steps. Currently, there are nine tents erected in front of Doe Library.

From the start, UC Berkeley administrators and faculty members have reached out to the group, both to engage in a discussion and to make sure the students know their actions violate the campus’s policy against encampment. University officials will continue to monitor and assess the situation, as well as to encourage members of the group to leave on their own accord.
