Calling all outstanding staffers; award nomination deadline is coming up

By Public Affairs

Got a co-worker, boss or supervisee whose accomplishments deserve recognition? Nominations for the annual Chancellor’s Outstanding Staff Awards are now open, and the deadline is Feb. 6.

With the start of the new semester almost here, Chancellor Robert Birgeneau issued his yearly call for names to be considered for the highest campus honor specifically for staff — the COSA.

Past nominees and recipients have come from all campus divisions and represent all levels and classifications, the announcement noted. The awards have been a Berkeley tradition since 1988.

Any member of the campus community, including staff, faculty, and students, may submit nominations. Nominees must have been working at Berkeley for at least a year. Full eligibility criteria and nomination forms can be found on the COSA website.

Nominations can be sent to cosa@lists.berkeley.edu or by fax or mail to Norton Mitchell, Unit 1 Residence Hall, # 2272, fax: (510) 643-6564.  Nominations must be received by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6.

The Chancellor’s Staff Advisory Committee (CSAC) will review the nominations and the campus will honor the 2013 recipients at a reception in April.
