Campus Shared Services launches first phase of IT support

By Public Affairs

Starting Thursday, Jan. 17, Campus Shared Services (CSS) is launching IT support for all faculty and staff in the Chancellor’s Office and units within Adminstration and Finance (VCAF), Information Services and Technology (IST) and the Office of the CIO. It will also serve those groups that previously received IT service from Departmental Online Computing Support (DOCS).

Campus Shared Services IT may be contacted three ways:

The new organization says that regardless of how CSS is contacted, it is committed to timely response and resolution, as outlined in the foundational service level agreement.

The IT-support launch is “a significant step toward achieving our vision of Operational Excellence,” say adminstrators Keith Gilless, dean of the College of Natural Resources, and John Wilton, vice chancellor for administration and finance. “This launch would not have been possible without the generous and valuable input provided to the project by hundreds of staff, faculty and students and the hard work and dedication of the CSS team,” they add. “On behalf of the whole Berkeley community, we thank all of them for their contributions toward preserving the university’s tradition of access and excellence.”
