Chancellor receives CASE CEO award

UC Berkeley Chancellor Robert Birgeneau is the recipient of the 2013 Chief Executive Officer Leadership Award from District VII of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). The annual award honors contributions to an educational leader’s campus community, and outstanding efforts to promote public understanding of education and support campus advancement.

“Your leadership throughout your career certainly demonstrates your ability to create a vision and motivate others,” District VII’s chair elect, Carri Jenkins, said in a letter informing Birgeneau of the honor. “It was inspiring to read the letters of nomination for you.”

CASE supports alumni relations, communications and marketing professionals at educational institutions in more than 70 countries; District VII encompasses educational institutions in the western U.S

The award announcement was made March 2 at the CASE District VII conference in San Francisco.
