Berkeley Professor Robert Reich and film director Jacob Kornbluth will be on hand Wednesday, Feb. 5 for a free campus screening of “Inequality For All.” The event, to be held in Wheeler Auditorium, begins at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a Q&A session moderated by Henry Brady, dean of the Goldman School of Public Policy.

Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of four per person; no reserved tickets are available. The box office, located just outside the auditorium, opens at 6 p.m. For more information, email events1@berkeley.edu or call (510) 643-1936.

Critics have called the documentary, which examines the nation’s growing economic divide, “the ‘Inconvenient Truth’ for today’s economy.” At the time of its theatrical release in September, Reich discussed his hopes for the film and the country with the campus Newscenter. A passionate argument on behalf of the middle class, “ Inequality for All ” features Robert Reich — professor, best-selling author and former U.S. Secretary of Labor — as he discusses the widening income gap and its devastating impact on the U.S. economy.

The documentary offers an intimate portrait of an individual who has seen personal adversity and whose lifelong goal is to protect those who are unable to protect themselves. Through his singular perspective, Reich explores how the massive consolidation of wealth by a few threatens the viability of the U.S. workforce and the foundation of democracy itself. Using humor as well as facts, Reich argues forcefully that the issue of economic inequality affects each and every one of us.
