Napolitano makes first campus visit

By Public Affairs

Napolitano, Wilton, Lalanne

Napolitano chats with John Wilton, Berkeley’s vice chancellor for administration and finance (center), and Bob Lalanne, vice chancellor for real estate, at Durant Hall.

On her first campus visit to UC Berkeley, UC President Janet Napolitano was feted Wednesday night at a reception at Durant Hall, with some 100 staff, faculty and students in attendance, as well as such off-campus dignitaries as Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates.

She received a briefing on the financial models for Berkeley prior to the reception.

Thursday morning she got a tour of the Space Sciences Lab, then visited the Invention Lab at CITRIS in Sutardja Dai Hall

Berkeley is the last stop on a months-long tour of UC campuses by Napolitano, who became the UC system’s 20th president in July 2013.
