Free lab coats draw a crowd, as event continues through Thursday

By Public Affairs

More than 1,000 campus lab researchers and staff got fitted for free lab coats, safety glasses and goggles on Monday, the first of a four-day personal protective equipment distribution event at Memorial Stadium’s Field Club.

As he progressed through four stations set up by the Office of Environment, Health and Safety, molecular toxicology Ph.D. student David Faulkner called the process efficient and well organized. “I’m actually really excited to get a whole lot of lab gear,” Faulkner said.

Researchers were also enrolled in a lab-coat laundry service, provided free by the University of California.

The distribution event continues through Thursday, Feb. 27, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Researchers may make a reservation on Eventbrite .
