UAW workers hold labor action

By Public Affairs

This morning members of the UAW union gathered at entrances to the campus, marking the beginning of what has been announced as a two-day strike by Academic Student Employees of the University. As a result, some members of the UC Berkeley community may have experienced minor traffic delays on their way to the campus. Parking and Transportation has been working to ensure community access to campus.

The UAW is currently in negotiations with the Office of the President concerning a new labor contract. The UC Berkeley administration hopes there will be a speedy and amicable resolution of the outstanding issues, and will continue to monitor the situation and keep the campus informed as events warrant.
