Why voting matters (or not) -- Berkeley students weigh in

Did Berkeley students register to vote in this year’s midterms election, and were they eager to cast their ballot on Nov. 4? What races and initiatives mattered the most? What did they know about local issues like Measures R (“Green Downtown”) and D (sugary-beverage tax) in Berkeley?

The NewsCenter spoke with students Monday on Sproul Plaza to find out what they think about the election, and whether they planned to exercise their right to vote this time around. Here’s what they had to say:
