Former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, an adjunct professor of public policy at UC Berkeley and a senior research fellow at Berkeley Energy and Climate Institute, has announced the launch of The  American  Jobs Project. The national initiative is focused on the creation of good-paying middle-class jobs in advanced energy-economic clusters.

For the project, student researchers at Berkeley in public policy, engineering, business and law are working with university partners and industry allies in ten states. The research teams are identifying bottom-up solutions for local and state governments to pursue as the EPA rolls out a new rule requiring states to reduce carbon pollution in their power sectors.
