New on UCTV: Robert Reich and Joseph Stiglitz on income inequality and what to do about it

By Public Affairs

Robert Reich and Joseph Stiglitz have a lot to talk about when they get together — especially when the topic is income inequality.

Reich, a UC Berkeley professor of public policy, was Bill Clinton’s Labor Secretary and the force behind the documentary Inequality for All. Stiglitz, his counterpart at Columbia University, is a Nobel prize winner in economics and the author of the best-selling book, The Great Divide: Unequal Societies and What We Can Do About Them.

The two sat down to talk recently in a conversation presented by the Goldman School of Public Policy at Berkeley. They reminisced about opposing “corporate welfare” during their days in the Clinton administration (Stiglitz was chair of the Council of Economic Advisors) and talked about problematic trade deals, income inequality and Stiglitz’s book.

Video cameras were rolling, and the video of their conversation is now up on the University of California’s video channel, UCTV.tv.
