New chancellor's chief of staff named

By Public Affairs

California Hall

Chancellor-designate Carol T. Christ, interim executive vice chancellor and provost, sent this announcement to the UC Berkeley community today:

Dear members of the campus community,

Khira Griscavage

Khira Griscavage

I write to you today to announce a transition in the Office of the Chancellor. Associate Chancellor and Chief Ethics, Risk, and Compliance Officer Khira Griscavage will be taking over as my chief of staff starting July 1 . We will be restructuring the current staffing model so that there is one associate chancellor position. This means that Khira will continue to be responsible for the campus’s staff ombuds, audit, compliance, ethics and risk service programs while additionally serving as my chief of staff. This change requires thoughtful adjustments, and we will ensure that the restructuring maintains adequate support for all of the critical functions of the Chancellor’s Immediate Office, including campus audit, compliance, ethics, and risk services.

After three years of dedicated service, Associate Chancellor and Chief of Staff to the Chancellor Nils Gilman will be transitioning to a new role. He will be joining the Berggruen Institute as vice president of programs, in which capacity he will lead the organization of intellectual and policy projects consistent with the Institute’s mission and its focus on “Great Transformations.”

Please join me in thanking Nils for his service to the university, and congratulating Khira as she assumes her expanded role.

Sincerely,

Carol T. Christ

Interim Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost; Chancellor-designate
