Campus community honors those lost in the last year

UC Berkeley held its annual campus memorial on Friday, Sept. 22, to recognize those in the campus community who died in the last year, including faculty, emeriti, staff and students.   

The event featured remarks by Chancellor Carol Christ, a Reserve Officers' Training Corps color guard, a performance of the Campanile carillon and the solemn reading of the names of the deceased.   

"Your presence here today is an important and meaningful recognition of all that we treasured and gained as individuals and a community from those we have lost," Christ said in her remarks to the audience.
