BERKELEY — Hundreds of students, staff and faculty massed on Sproul Plaza Wednesday for a rally denouncing student fee hikes, program cuts, layoffs and other cutbacks across the UC system. The rally, smaller than a similar protest in September, was part of a three-day strike that resulted in some class cancellations or relocations and scattered office closures. It concluded with a march around campus and the departure of two buses full of protesters headed for the UC Regents’ meeting at UCLA.
