Japan travel warning
The UC Education Abroad Programs (UCEAP) in Japan have been suspended, and travel assistance providers are available to help to return to the U.S., Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost George Breslauer announced in a campuswide CalMessage on Thursday.

The UC Education Abroad Programs (UCEAP) in Japan have been suspended, and travel assistance providers are available to help those needing to return to the U.S., Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost George Breslauer announced in a campuswide CalMessage on Thursday. The message said that in the wake of a State Department travel warning issued Wednesday night (See: www.travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_5390.html), the University of California is strongly encouraging faculty, staff and students currently in Japan to leave. UC’s travel assistance provider can help people with flight arrangements. Assistance is available by calling Europe Assistance at 1-866-451-7606 (inside U.S.), 1-202-828-5896 (outside U.S. call collect), or by emailing [email protected].
