He explains how UC Berkeley plans to bridge over the cutbacks and is preserving its standards of access and excellence. He highlights the importance of the current strategies, including Operational Excellence, continued advocacy efforts and the pursuit of new revenue sources. He warns that additional state funding cuts will force the campus to revisit its plans.
