Bike to Work Day celebrates and encourages cycling as a low-cost, energy-efficient and healthy mode of transportation. So whether you’re one of UC Berkeley’s 5,000 regular bicycle commuters, or you’re brand new to the proposition, round up friends and colleagues and plan your ride to campus.
As in the past, Bike to Work Day riders can stoke up at any of dozens of energizer stations during their morning commute on two wheels.
A UC Berkeley-hosted station at Bancroft Way and Telegraph Avenue will welcome arriving cyclists with energy bars, coffee and pastries (while they last), from 7 to 10 a.m. The student bicycle cooperative, BicyCAL, will provide free bike repairs and advice. And the UC Police Department will be on hand to register bikes.
To find scores of other energizer stations, near campus and throughout the East Bay, check this map.
