Dirks on academics, athletics, 'unconventional thinking'

By Public Affairs

In this video, Chancellor Nicholas Dirks discusses his ambitious agenda for UC Berkeley, and the “big ideas, constructive collaboration and unconventional thinking” it will take to achieve it. Berkeley, he says, will not only continue to offer “the best educational opportunities for all of our students,” but “ensure that our educational values permeate all that we do,” including Cal athletics.

“… just the beginning…”

Calling the past six months “one of the most rewarding and thrilling periods of my life,”  Dirks says, “I have been impressed and in truth captivated by your loyalty to this university and what it stands for. You all share as deep a commitment to our public values as you do to the academic excellence of our campus.”
