The Office of Environment, Health and Safety is distributing free personal-protective equipment to all campus lab researchers this week. The four-day distribution event is being held daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Thursday, Feb. 27, at California Memorial Stadium.
Researchers will be fitted for lab coats and protective eyewear, and enrolled in a laundry service for the coats, provided free by the University of California. Following the distribution, EH&S will continue providing certain personal-protective items to campus labs.
Free shuttles to the stadium will be provided, along with daily iPad giveaways and free refreshments. Each lab with 100 percent participation will be thrown a pizza party.
Researchers may make a reservation for the distribution event on Eventbrite.
A new UC-wide policy on personal protective equipment takes effect March 31.
