In collaboration with the UCPD Police Officers Association, Cal Dining and the management of University Village in Albany, campus police officers, led by Chief Margo Bennett and Capt. Alex Yao, spent part of Friday passing out Thanksgiving meals to 30 families living in the housing complex for Berkeley students.

Cal Dining secured donations of the frozen turkeys, stuffing and produce gift boxes from local vendors. UCPD internally collected $1,670, of which more than half went toward a $30 gift certificate from Trader Joe’s for each of the 30 families, with the remainder donated to the University Village food bank, the Bear Pantry.
