As March is Women’s History Month, the NewsCenter has been asking Berkeley undergraduates about women they admire, and why. Most students were more than willing to weigh in — naming artists, U.S. First Ladies and civil rights activists, an explorer, an X-ray crystallographer and an urban planner who’s a household name on campus (though you might not know of her).

Meet eight of the students we spoke with and hear, in their own words, about women in history they find inspiring.
