Two siblings sired by the late Grinnell and nurtured by their mom, Annie, and her new beau, Alden, successfully took their first flights on Saturday, June 18, about six weeks after they hatched. The female, Lindsay, took wing around 6 a.m., while her brother, Grinnell Jr., lagged behind by about 12 hours. (UC Berkeley video by Roxanne Makasdjian and Alan Toth.
