Research Interests: My scholarship focuses on private law theory, notably property theory and contract theory. Private law governs our relationships with each other in some of the most important spheres of our lives, such as the marketplace, the workplace, the neighborhood and the road. In my work, I try to offer a compass to navigate between the positive and the normative — the law as it is and as it should be — pointing the way to reforms toward a more just and fair society.
