Media Advisory: College Advisory Day this Saturday

ATTENTION: Reporters covering K-12 and higher education, weekend assignment editors

WHAT: College Information Day, a free, annual event at the University of California, Berkeley, in which dozens of college and university representatives give college-preparation tips to about 1,500 middle school and high school students and their families.

A panel of college students will discuss the importance of setting college attendance and graduation goals, college admissions processes, financial aid, college entrance exams, personal statements and more.

WHEN: 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10. A schedule for the day and additional details are online.

WHERE: Wheeler Hall Auditorium, UC Berkeley. See campus map.

WHO: Representatives from close to 60 public and private colleges and universities, including institutions outside of California, will provide information on preparing for college, applying for admission and seeking financial aid. Participants will include historically black colleges and universities, California State University, the University of California and private institutions.
